Network of UNORCA women

The Network of UNORCA women was created because of the the growing demand for women to enter into economically productive activities. As a result of the need for higher incomes, women have begun working where they did not before.

The network was formed in 1994 with a small but growing group of embroiderers from the X-Pichil community. These women spread their knowledge, giving rise to other groups in other communities. Now there are 12 working groups in 12 cooperatives of the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
